“Casa” means home in Portuguese, and this day is all about stepping into the heart of Brazil.
Casa Brazil is a full day of cultural workshops hosted by Brazilians living in Adelaide, each one designed to share the textures, tastes, and traditions of their heritage. From clay to cooking, carnival to movement, these hands-on sessions invite you to make, move, taste, and create, no experience needed, just curiosity.
It’s a day to connect with Brazilian culture in an open, joyful way, one workshop at a time.
Pottery Workshop
The Potter’s Shed – Royal Park – 10 am to 12 pm
Discover the roots of Brazilian pottery in this hands-on workshop led by Adelaide-based ceramic artist Rodrigo Kimelblat, founder of The Potters Shed, as you explore Indigenous clay-making traditions and engraving techniques before shaping and decorating your own unique piece to take home — no experience needed, all materials provided.

Join us for a delicious day of Brazilian flavours at Casa Brazil! Two hands-on cooking classes led by talented Brazilian chefs based in Adelaide will take you straight to the heart of Brazil’s food culture.

Brazilian Sweets Cooking Class
With Cat from Sugar Fix Me, a Brazilian caterer specialising in traditional desserts. Learn to make brigadeiros in all their tasty variations — rich, chocolatey, and irresistible.
12:30pm – 2:30pm
Brazilian Savoury Cooking Class
With Tassia from Cozinha, head chef and owner of one of Adelaide’s best-known Brazilian restaurants. Master escondidinho, a comforting layered dish of mash and savoury filling.
Doll Workshop
Inspired by Afro-Brazilian traditions, this hands-on workshop with Brazilian artist Ada Rovai invites you to create your own Self-Doll – a fabric doll that reflects your story and emotions – blending craft, meditation, and cultural heritage in a safe, inclusive space for reflection and self-expression.
